This book is hypnotically beautiful. The problem is that the flow is so wonderful that you can't easily put it down if you're trying to just read for a few minutes. I have a hard time picturing this as a movie, just because it is so lovely on its own. I imagine I will watch it anyway.
This book made feel old. I've read YA books that didn't age me a s much as this one. There were just a lot of references I did not get. To be fair, the author did do a pretty good job of explaining some of them. Despite this, I did find myself laughing out loud a few times and chuckling to myself frequently.

I always turn Trump off when I see him speaking because it feels like I'm missing the better half of a Clutch Cargo cartoon. It is interesting reading more complete transcripts. They are crazier that I thought. This book could have benefited from a better editing job. Perhaps that was sacrificed when they pushed up the publication date.
I'd been wanting to read this one for a while and it did not disappoint. It's a WWII story so you have an idea what to expect but this is still a well told tale.

What an amazing and epic tale!! I want to get a hard copy of this to add to my collection. I need to track down an autographed copy. Being the true artist she is, Min Jin Lee should sign all her work.

Not as well organized as his other books. When he starts talking about race problems in the south, eugenics, and the ideas Hitler had right....way off on a tangent. Made it hard for me to come back around to his point after all that.

Didn't really make me laugh out loud but I did smile plenty while reading this. And how often can you say that of the average book you read? I actually blame my "in head" delivery of the lines for the lack of out loud chuckles. I'm sure Dr. Leary's delivery would have been much more effective.
