The Boy in the Suitcase by Lene Kaaberbøl
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I'm not much for this genre but this was quite good. There were just enough vital details doled out at the proper time. I think I'd like to read the sequel.

Songs of Willow Frost by Jamie Ford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Jamie Ford just has a gift for crafting a beautiful story. The people and situations are completely real and believable and you feel a little haunted when you are done reading the book.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Not bad for a middle book. I was tempted to put this off until closer to the release of the third book but I couldn't help myself. I think this series would make pretty cool movies.

Under Heaven by Guy Gavriel Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book took me a little longer to read as I was on vacation. I really enjoyed it. I have a fascination with this period/place. This book stands on it's own very well but I am looking forward to reading the sequel and checking into some of the other books this author has written. The only criticism I might have is that there were too many narrators allowed. Sometimes the perspective shifted to another character that you only encountered for that one chapter section. It did keep you on your toes and was a refreshing change-up, but not necessary either.

Where'd You Go Bernadette?
Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I think if I'd read this book 5 years ago (yes, I know it wasn't written yet) I would have been in a frame of mind to enjoy it more. This is one of those stories that has a lot of humor to it, but the humor occurs mainly from people being nasty to each other. It's just not my thing anymore. It was a really well constructed story though and I did enjoy how unique the characters were.
