Review: Furyborn

Furyborn Furyborn by Claire Legrand
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I think I have just outgrown YA. This got great reviews and seemed well-written but I just couldn't get in to it.

I received a free e-galley from netgalley.com.

Review: No Tomorrow

No Tomorrow No Tomorrow by Luke Jennings
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I did not read the first book but say the first season of the show. From what I gathered reading this book, they would have been quite different. This was quite good but I'm curious to see the different spin the show takes for season two. I'm not sure which story arc I'll end up liking more.

Review: Scourged

Scourged Scourged by Kevin Hearne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really love this series and am so sad I'm done. I was able to get all my books signed a few days ago and that made me happy. It was a huge pleasure to meet the author. The addition of Slomo made me smile.

Review: Daisy Jones & The Six

Daisy Jones & The Six Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The format of this book made the story feel very real and believable. It felt like you should be able to go out and buy their record. Lots of drama, as one would expect. Very enjoyable read.

Review: 21 Lessons for the 21st Century

21 Lessons for the 21st Century 21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I like this: "Questions you cannot answer are usually far better for you than answers you cannot question."
This made me feel a bit better of my reading of this book: "If you are left with the nagging feeling that this is too much, that you cannot process it all, you are absolutely right. No person can."
Honestly, this was one of the most depressing books I have ever read. It was very hard to get through.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I don't normally enjoy reading short stories but these were nice. They are also little missing links so I'm glad I read them.

Texts from Dog Texts from Dog by October Jones
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Wasn't as entertaining as I'd hoped it would be. Still, there were a few funny ones I hadn't seen before.

Review: Outline

Outline Outline by Rachel Cusk
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed the way the themes unfolded and related to each other. The way a chapter about feminism included mainly male caregivers. How a chapter about students who failed to write stories about animals suddenly all had something to say about them. I really enjoyed when their excuse for not doing the writing assignment included an animal. It all just wove together so well and felt like it came full circle. I'm interested to see what the other books in the series are like.

I received a free copy from Goodreads giveaways.

Staked Staked by Kevin Hearne

Pretty good. I like it better when the characters do their own separate things.

I only read the Kevin Hearne story because it looks like the other two stories might be part of other series that I have not read yet.

Review: My Year of Rest and Relaxation

My Year of Rest and Relaxation My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This felt like a long journey to reach a simple point. The narrator was such a horrible person and an absolute train wreck that it was hard not to keep reading.
