Beartown really took me by surprise and I didn't like it as much because I'm such a fan of Backman's more heartwarming stories. I was prepared this time so I liked this one more.
Interesting story-telling technique in this one. He tells you pretty early on what is going to happen, you just have to keep reading to see how it all unfolds.
Be prepared for tears.

I was a bit distracted by the character named Noone. I couldn't decide if it was supposed to be pronounced "no one" or "noon." It was a bit bothersome.
It was really easy to figure out how the story was going to play out. Probably because stuff like this did really happen. It's a history that is not much pondered in America so probably a very good read, particularly these days with race tensions so high.

Review: Kill The Farm Boy

Kill The Farm Boy by Delilah S. Dawson

I did read Phasma but I don't feel as familiar with Dawson's voice as Hearne's. I'm pretty sure I'm a fan though. This book wasn't laugh out loud funny but was was consistently amusing and entertaining. I may get a copy of this for my collection and am looking forward to reading future books in this series.
